Garbage & Recycling

Republic Services provides waste removal and recycling services to our community though a municipal contract with the City of North Las Vegas.  This means that you will be seeing Republic Services picking up your trash, but you will be billed for the service through the City of North Las Vegas Utilities Department.  Garbage service is mandatory per city code and cannot be cancelled.

Garbage

Bag your solid waste and place it in the black bins.  Trash pickup is once a week on Tuesday.  To allow the trucks to operate correctly, be sure to place the wheels of the bin to the curb and ensure that there are no obstructions within 3 feet of the bin.  Trash bins must not be visible when not curbed for pickup.  Bins must not be curbed for more than 12 hours prior and after pickup.  

Recycling

Recyclable items need to be placed in the blue bin.  Sorting is not necessary.  When processed, often using advanced sorting equipment – such as disk screens, magnets and optical sorters – the items are identified and separated into different types of paper, metals and plastics. Otherwise the same instructions and restrictions apply for recycling bins as do for the garbage bins.

• Plastics #1 - #7 (except for Styrofoam and PVC)

• Mixed Paper & Office Paper

• Cardboard

• Paperboard: Cereal Boxes, Paper Towel Rolls, etc

• Magazines & Catalogs

• Newspapers

• Junk Mail

• Brown Paper Bags

• Metals: Aluminum & Steel Cans

• Glass Bottles & Jars

• Cartons: Milk Cartons & Juice Boxes

Bulk Trash Pickup

For oversized household items too large to fit in your trash container, including palm fronds and tree trimmings.
