Animal Control

The purpose of the City of North Las Vegas Animal Control Division is to educate the public regarding responsible pet ownership and enforce City animal ordinances. They perform a variety of services that help animals as well as the public:

  • Rescuing injured or sick animals
  • Controlling stray and potentially dangerous animals roaming at large
  • Removing stray dead animals from private and public property
  • Transporting lost pets to the animal shelter where their owners can reclaim them.

Animal Control officers are on duty from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, seven days a week, including holidays.

Please contact dispatch at (702) 633-1390 for animal complaints or officer requests.

    waste pick up

Be sure to clean up solid waste from your pets.  Not only is it being responsible, it is also the law.  Our association has pet waste receptacles placed around the parks in the community for your convenience.

    leash law

The City of North Las Vegas requires that animals not run at large and must be on a leash when out in public.  This is for the protection of your animal, other animals that may not be as well trained as yours, and for humans too.

    offensive odors & incessant barking

Unlike most legalese mumbo-jumbo, these next passages from the City of North Las Vegas are quite colorful and illicit a wonderful imaginative response.  Enjoy!

    • No person shall permit any animal related odors to permeate from property such person owns or possesses which is injurious to the public health, indecent or offensive to the senses of a reasonable person, or which constitutes an unreasonable intrusion into the quiet enjoyment of another's property.
    • No person owning or possessing an animal shall permit such animal to bark, yelp, bray or make other noises in such a manner that, because of the duration or repetition of the noise, a reasonable person would consider an unreasonable intrusion into the quiet enjoyment of their property.
